Whole School Parent Evening

How Does CVWS incorporate First Peoples Principles of Learning?
An evening for parents presented by CVWS teachers

Thursday, October 18th at 6:30pm in our Hemlock Building

Background:
Since 2016 the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action have inspired the process of transforming education in BC.  Transformed curriculum builds on Aboriginal content already in place and extends Aboriginal perspectives into the entire learning journey, rather than into specific courses or grade levels. This means that from preschool to graduation, students will experience Aboriginal perspectives and knowledge as part of what they are learning. And because Aboriginal perspectives and knowledge are embedded in the curriculum, they will naturally influence the ways in which students experience the world.
Invitation:
Come and enjoy an evening with your Teachers as they take you on an interactive journey through a day in the life of a CVWS student and show you how Waldorf pedagogy is reflective of First Peoples Principles of Learning (FPPL).  You will experience FPPL in a variety of ways including the delivery of content though story-telling, a hallmark of Waldorf education, which is a signature of Indigenous learning.
