Francesca Cogorno - Lower Grades & French Teacher

Picture
Francesca Cogorno followed her dream of becoming a teacher and completed her teaching degree in Nipissing, Ontario after having studied Biology in Guelph, Ontario.  She first taught in her birth country of Peru at a female private school in Lima.  Upon returning to Canada, she continued to teach mostly to high school and middle school students in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

In these first years of teaching, she became positively influenced by holistic and spiritual pursuits and soon fell in love with yoga.  She immersed herself in yoga and its healing practices by living in a spiritual community in Kootenay Bay, BC for several years.  While there, she took a yoga intensive and trained as a teacher.

After a number of years of yoga immersion, she moved to Nelson where she sought to explore the world of classroom teaching anew, and found herself connecting with the Waldorf School in Nelson, BC.  She was inspired by the approaches of the school, noticing numerous parallels with the spiritual community she'd lived in.

In summer 2018, she started her part-time teacher training with the West Coast Institute and connected with the Comox Valley Waldorf School to start her Waldorf teaching career with the class 1 and 2 students.  She is happy to continue with her class into grade 2 and 3.
