Physical and Health Education and Applied Design, Skills & Technology Teacher
Comox Valley Waldorf School is seeking a physical and Health Education and Applied Design, Skills & Technology Teacher for the 2018-19 school year.
Position Summary:
The qualified candidate will teach the BC Ministry of Education Physical and Health Education (PHE) curriculum for Grade 1-7 which aims to empower students to develop a personalized understanding of what healthy living means to them as individuals and members of society in the 21st century.
As well the qualified candidate will teach the BC Ministry of Education Applied Design, Skills & Technology (ADST) curriculum for Grade 1-7 which is an experiential, hands-on program of learning through design and creation that includes skills and concepts from traditional and First Peoples practice; from the existing disciplines of Business Education, Home Economics and Culinary Arts, Information and Communications Technology, and Technology Education; and from new and emerging fields. It fosters the development of the skills and knowledge that will support students in developing practical, creative, and innovative responses to everyday needs and challenges.

This position is 12 hours/week over 3 days per week and includes 2 recesses. This position begins September 4, 2018 and ends June 14, 2019. Rate of pay is $25-$28/hour depending on credentials.

Qualifications:
- BC Ministry of Education Teachers Certificate in good standing
- Preferably 1 year of experience teaching PHE and ADST to grades children
- Experience with Waldorf Education or a willingness to learn is an asset
- Valid First Aid
- Criminal Record Check
